is there a trick to it? very tight squeeze
tks for BAD answers! Figured it out, just had to disconect radaitor overflow line and unbolt fuse box. Battery slides right out!

its lot easier on that one if yo do remove the front wheel,then it will come out with no problems,other wise its really hard to get it out,its tight either way you look at it,good luck with it.

LOL...my friend had to take out half the engine to get to her battery in a new monte....my friends imports owners manual sez "its not nessessary to remove the front wheel to get to the battery"...good luck.

how to get battery out of 2004 Impala LS

I wonder if it's the same for the 2004 Impala LS -
the battery is under the big structural diag cross bracing beam....

Figured it out,
just had to disconect radaitor overflow line
and unbolt fuse box. Battery slides right out!

tight squeeze, i just did my 03 today. remove the fender brace, and unclip the wiring cliped to it , then remove the 2 nuts holding the fuse panel to the fender well, that will give you plenty of room to move it around to get in/out.
