I have a 2004 Impala. To get to my office at work I have to drive about 2 miles with a speed limit of 19 mph. My cruise won't turn on until about 25 mph. Is there a way to reduce the minimum speed setting on the car's computer?

Cars are not designed to run cruise control when traveling at speeds below 25-30 mph. Usually the car has to be in 3rd gear in order for the cruise control to activate. Believe it or not using cruise control at low speeds puts a lot of wear and tear on a transmission, which is why it is not reccommended to use when traveling under 45. If you read your owners manual it will tell you tell you that for most cars.

well in the first place you might damage something if you try, and its not a good idea to use cruise control at low speeds like that, its not that reliable.

Don't be lazy. Just keep your feet on the pedals and help keep the roads safe.

There is no way to change it. All cars are like that.
