We recently had to make a 3,000 mile round trip in our Impala so I decided to calculate mileage for some of that trip. Here is what I found...
Leaving Virginia enroute to Oklahoma (hand calculated not by DIC)

401.3 miles driven | 12.308 gallons used | 32.6048 mpg
691.1 miles driven | 9.510 gallons used | 30.47 mpg
939.3 miles driven | 7.885 gallons used | 31.477mpg
1270.9 miles driven | 10.952 gallons used | 30.277mpg

Average 31.2072mpg (the DIC was reading the average was around 32.4)

We didn't buy this car for the gas mileage but it is very nice that it was so comfortable on the trip and it also got good gas mileage for the powerful V6.

I drive mostly city and I average 17 mpg with 54k mileage. I have the V6. My previous 4 cyl care did almost as bad at 19 mpg. I'd say I go on the highway once per week. I live and work in the same town and that town is stop sign and light happy.

Your mpg's sound pretty consistent with what we get on the highway with our 2012 if we don't push it too hard. Car has quite a few miles on it and the 300 horse v6 still gets better than 30 on the highway if we keep it under 80 mph.

Depends on the speed limit. I would usually set it at about 3-5 mph over the speed limit (wife said I was driving too slow, haha). Most of the way the speed limit was 70 so it was mainly set around 73-75. Had some mountains to drive through in NC and TN so that slowed us down for a bit.

Since we got back, I've been watching the gas mileage in town and it has been getting about 20 mpg when my wife drives it to work. Our Impala has almost 30,000 miles on it now.

My B trip was not reset for the last 9000 miles .
I am 80% local and 20 % highway and the DIC was reading 24.9 MPG when I hit the reset yesterday.

2014 LTZ - I'm very happy with that result and I love this car more than my 2005 LS .

BTW - The wifes 05 has 167k and it still gets 24 MPG on a tankful and it only sees local for the most part.

Repair on the 05 has been very little more than a sway bar and a muffler .

Sorry to see these cars go .

and.....My mothers 67 impala wagon - now that was a CAR !

Jackson do you have the 2.5 that is in the LTZ or the 3.6 engine in the LTZ2?

2014 LTZ 2LZ Outstanding Fuel Mileage

I have recently purchased my 2014 LTZ 2LZ with the 3.6 engine. Took first long trip a week ago and averaged 32.1 MPG according to the DIC. I was highly impressed that a car so roomy and comfortable could obtain such a good number over long distances. Needless to say I am very pleased with the cars performance.

My 2014 LTZ does same . I bought it over a BMW 5 Series and a Lexus of the same size . And have $20K still in the bank. 4 years and I'm a happy camper !

So you have the LTZ2 or 2LTZ however they say it. The LTZ in 2014 had the 4 cylinder.

Super impressed with MPG

Just an update: Had my 2014 LTZ 2LZ now for 5 weeks, I travel 112+ miles to and from work 4 days a week (Yeah, I know three day weekends are tough)!

This past week I made the trip to work and back all four days without having to put gas in the car during the week. None of my previous vehicles have ever been able to do that trick.

I started the week with $25 in the tank which put the fuel gauge just past 7/8th of a tank.

Yesterday, I actually got over 33 MPG from a V6 on the round trip average. (see photo, I took this picture as I exited from the Interstate) :D: I am super impressed!

Would love to know what sort of mileage you are getting from your Impala's.

I also work 4 day work weeks but I drive our 15 Sierra to work every day. Only about 5 miles round trip each day. It gets about 14 mpg city.

To Impaler, What octane do you use, I use 87 octane but I don't get that kind of mileage... I get between 25-28 miles average.

my trip B is up to 53K with 24.6 mpg (accidentally hit reset around 100K and missed out on some good data..sigh). 140 miles a day highway so thats not too bad

this winter noticed i took a big hit for some reason . in summer i can get 3 days gas but now i have to fill up ever 2 days. unsure why. obviously my driving style is consistent so has to be the car.

i recently rented a maxima for across the country driving and was pretty impressed as i drive 90 to 100 in the wildnerness of NM and AZ (man theres nothing out there) 2900 miles and 26.3 mpg but that in cludes some local vegas driving too and my gfs slower foot helped too.

but nothing like the comfort of the impala. the maximas seats were way too form fitting.
