I have a question for you guys and gals. My 2006 Impala 3.5 is having a problem it has a new battery and the alternator is good but it is draining the mess out of my battery and I'm having to jump it off every time I drive it. AutoZone said it was the starter. Could this be possible because I have a push start bc my key wont turn over the engine but there is a wire that goes from my push start to the battery and another that goes to the starter could this be my problem with my battery draining? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Do you have a multimeter? If you don't, they can be found cheap on amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9QW620 or from harbor freight. If you do, set it on DC current. Then disconnect the wire you have going from your push start to the battery. Connect the multimeter in line with that wire and the battery (take the one lead and touch the end of the wire, take the other and connect to the positive terminal of the battery). Take a look at the current that is being drawn (watch your units to see if its milliamps or just regular amps). If you don't seem anything substantial (over 50 milliamps), then it is not your push start. You can do the same process with the large connection from your car to your battery and read the draw there. Once you have those connected, and if you see a larger draw (again over maybe 75 milliamps) you can start pulling fuses/relays of things you think might be the issue. If it drops after you pull the fuse or relay, then that is where your problem is.

I was unaware the 2006 model had a push to start option. My 2008 did not. If this is some kind of aftermarket install, start there. It's likely the cause of your draining issues.
