Going to need a ton of exhaust fabrication to feed the hot side of the turbo. ECU programming and a 2 bar map sensor.

Too bad nobody makes a turbo-400 kit for the 4T65EAnd about the beefed up trans... I supposedly had a beefed up rebuild done on my 02 GTP that made about 300 horsepower and the dam thing shit the bed on me just over a year after the rebuild, and the trans shop basically told me to get bent. Hopefully your shop treats you better.
Right?!?Too bad nobody makes a turbo-400 kit for the 4T65E![]()

Back in the day, GM's Turbohydramatic-400's often got used in drag racing, probably mostly in super-stock. They would be bolted to 800-HP big blocks and hold up quite well. And there were aftermarket supplied parts for beefing them up.Right?!?

I have no experience with front wheel drive but my 305 had a Turbo 250 which would have blown up when I put in a 330 HP , 350cid so had a 350 Turbo Trans built to take 350 Hp , it is rock solid.
Oh yeah... when I called around, this guy sounded very well versed with the known failures of the 4T65 transmission. He said what little mods I had would be fine, especially since I had no more planned for it. Since he sounded so knowledgeable and he was local to me, I went for it. The new torque converter was what failed and trashed my trans in the process. My problem? I trusted a guy that has an expensive drag racing habit, which is just as bad as a drug addict or alcoholic. I'm over it, but when people ask me why I order and do stuff online as opposed to keeping it in the local economy, I reply that I don't like getting screwed. I would rather support my local businesses and economy, but not at my expense of over paying or being ripped off.Just curious , when you had your tranny beefed up did you tell the shop what HP to spec it to ?
