I had a 2005 that did that. I sold it. I knew several people that happened to with Impalas from that time frame. I said I'd never buy another Impala. I bought a new 2011 and it's still in the family and working fine. On the 2005, I was going to have to buy a new gauge cluster or get one from a junkyard. I would try the junkyard now but had never done anything like that at the time.
