i have the base impala l36 with the dumbest guage cluster int the world. gas speed and temp is alll i get is there any way to upgrade? price ranges? any info would be helpful thanks

I feel your pain,one thing i never liked about the 9C1 Impalas guage cluster.It was just to basic,i mean its a Cop car for crying out loud!! All my other Police cars had oil pressure,temp,volt meter,and a gas guage.

This is the cluster i want....

Dannyboy, that's an LS Sport or SS cluster.

Careful though, there are supercharged and non-supercharged SS clusters out there. If you buy a supercharged SS cluster, you'll have a dead gauge for boost pressure.

yea i was on bb engineer and i was looking at that cluster and im not sure how to insure i dont get the ss cluster.

Ah, you are online. Good.

I have left a message in the taillight topic and a pm in your inbox regarding taillight covers on ebay right now.

As far as this topic goes, it appears that maybe the SS gauge clusters do not have a boost gauge in them. On his website, under

"Impala/Monte Carlo SS Clusters" The cluster pictured is the "Upgraded SS Cluster", for $200 USD. This is what you're after. He will require you to sign off on a form which says the milage you tell him to program into the cluster is the milage which will be on your car when you install the cluster from him. This is solely to protect yourself and him from odometer fraud.

drop him an email and tell him you want an SS NON S/C'd or similar gauge (aka SS W/O the boost gauge) He should know what youre talking about either way

thanks all my questions are bein answered at once and i cant wait untill i can get everything. the cluster will probably be one of the last things i do if at all because my car is a big part of my life and im not sure how im gonna work out instalation.

lol yeah i wanna have my rev limiter removed but thats a bad idea without a tach so im gonna have to work it out

no need to remove it or adjust it until you get into some bigger mods, the rev limiter is there to keep you from messing something up , and is actually set pretty well to the stock powerband, once you get a cam/rockers you can always get it bumped up to that power band, the speed limiter on the other hand ;)

You've got a lot of work to do if you want to hit 300 with bolt-ons.

no offense, but you wont hit 300 w/ bolt ons unless you spray the piss out of it... Stock for these cars was 200 @ the fly wheel, I dynoed just over that at the wheels w/ a cam, cheaper and easier to do a top swap, worst case scenario, ~$1000 and your right around 260 @ the wheels....
