My fuel gauge is reading empty even when full. When I disconnect the wire on the sending unit at the tank the gauge pegs past full. Looking for some advice on where to go with this. This is on a 61 Biscayne.
Float has sunk, bad sender or short. Opening the wire and the gauge goes beyond full says good gauge. Those were brass floats and I've seen them fill over time, poke a pinhole in the body drain and resolder for another 60 years.
