I had the oil filter adapter leak ever since I got this car a month ago. There is no telling how long it had been going on but I couldn't stand it. Today was a perfect 70 degrees so I decided to tear into it. It wasn't too bad of a job, it took me about 2 hours but that was with neighbors coming over and talking and going back and forth for tools. If I had to do it again I could do it in much less time.

Now that it is fixed do you guys have any tips on cleaning the oil/sludge from the bottom of the engine and rest of the car? Actually the whole engine bay needs a good cleaning.

I recently took care of an everlasting oil leak too! Glad you got it done.

After the whole deal with my oil leak, my mechanic sprayed the oil pan and mounts down with brake clean and they actually pressure washed the innards of the engine cradle.
