Besides exhaust what are some ways to improve speed in my 06 impala lt, especially my 0-60 time?

how can i get a better launch? Is it just a matter of sitting on the brake to let the rpm's get up there and then slam it? I notice a huge difference in cold weather which is obvious for air flow, but that is the only time the engine really has power, usually if i give it gas its just like any other unimpressive car.

I'm sorry i misunderstood what you meant... I don't plan on bringing the car to the track i just mean in general getting a better 0-60 time and more power. I haven't really even clocked the car in that situation, but plan on getting a faster car in any case. Thanks for the reply though.
