I ordered a set of Jegs Chambered Muffler, Basically the same as Flowmaster 40 Series, as their patent had expired. I will upload a video after I get them installed.

I know it's not what your getting at but I would love to see a 2013 Impala V8 Engine swap. Couldn't call it a ricer because I'm sure at least someone would notice the unusually lengthened front end... At least you'd have something unique!

Actually, since the 8th gen SS's actually had V8's, you could probably put an LS4 into the 2013 easily - although I have no idea how hard it would be to make it work properly with the 6-speed trans (both physically and tuning).
I'm sure it would be cost-prohibitive too. And you really wouldn't be gaining *that* much over the 3.6L V6 (same HP as the LS4 V8 - but less torque).

Dang, I'm terrible at searching. I even tried to check to make sure there was no V8. Thanks for clarifying. :beer:

On my 2001 Grand Prix GTP, I had SLP headers and the SLP exhaust system. No resonator and it droned badly at highway speed. It got on my nerves. Didn't sound that good either. In my opinion, a 6 cylinder will never sound as good as a V8. Having said that, I would like to hear a Corsa system on a w-body. Bet it sounds the best you are going to get.
If anyone knows of any reasonable way to make the 3.6 LFX rumble a bit without droning on the highway that'd be great info to know. It still bothers me that the exhaust makes 0 sound when I'm driving. To be fair I have unreasonable expectations as I spent the 3 years previous to my impala driving around a '93 Dodge Stealth R/T which made some fun noises

The Corsa system is going to be it. I have it on my GTO and you can barely tell it is there at highway speed. I have not heard one on a 6 cylinder W-body but I am willing to bet it sounds good. Corsa makes a very high quality, zero drone system... hence the higher cost of admission. I do not know if there is a Corsa system available for the 2006 up Impala but I bet the Grand Prix system can be made to work if there isn't one.

Check the 9th gen forums, and youtube. Few videos and posts. I have 3rd cat delete, 22inch yonaka res, and muffler delete. Very loud, drone not bad. Drbumripper on youtube i think. Dont mind the name lol https://youtu.be/Mi0gco-0vtM

The issue with it is the 3.6 was only put on the 8th gens from '12 up, and exhausts that may sound nice on the 3.5 and 3.9 will be completely different on the 3.6 as it's a different type of engine (pushrod vs DOHC). I've seen a few videos of cars with aftermarket resonators and muffler deletes, but I'd rather keep inside the law for this one so I avoid future issues.
I've heard one or two who put flowmaster super 44's on, which sounded pretty good at idle but kind of sad when revving.
Here's a video of it with the flowmaster catback system, but unfortunately he didn't rev soooo.
Flowmaster 10s and res delete.
Basically, I'd like to know if anyone has found a pair of mufflers which work with or without a resonator which produces a nice rumble, sounds decent when revving, but doesn't drone obnoxiously on the highway. My Stealth got so bad when I broke the exhaust that I couldn't hold conversations on the highway without yelling. I've spent a lot of time searching on youtube, but have yet to find a video where anyone has mufflers and shows it idling, revving, and highway cruising.
Also note my county does emissions testing, so I can't lose any cats unless I want to put em back on every 2 years lol

Correction: you'd be gaining a freaking 5.3L V8 and all the giggles that go along with it! it would giggles per gallon and smiles for miles for sure. LOL

All depends on what you're looking for, I guess. Personally, I don't think that the "V8 rumble" and extra torque outweigh the increased gas mileage, 6-speeds trans performance, 6-speed trans longevity, newer car overall and lower cost of the 3.6L version. But again, it all depends what you are looking for I guess.
To me, the 3.6L has more than enough power and I typically like quiet, comfortable cars for a daily-driver. Some prefer cars with a loud exhaust, hard "sport" handling and more torque off the line. So which is "better" is subjective.
