Have a 2019 Impala that is throwing code P0442. The problem I’m having is after I get gas, that’s when it will vibrate and hesitate on startup. Any suggestions? I’ve already changed out the gas cap and it didn’t help.

A good indication that the issue is the purge valve (solenoid) is that you state the engine vibrates and hesitates on startup.

That indicates the solenoid is stuck open - allowing fuel vapors to be drawn into the engine upon startup and causing a rich or flooded condition.

The valve is designed to open and draw fuel vapors into the engine once the engine startup is stabilized and the vehicle is being driven (not at idle).

Code P0442 indicates a small EVAP system leak, and since the issue occurs after refueling, the problem could be with the purge valve or vent valve. A faulty purge valve can stick open, causing a temporary rich condition and rough starts after fueling. Try checking the purge valve for proper operation or replacing it. Also, inspect EVAP hoses for leaks. If the issue persists, a smoke test might help pinpoint the leak.
