So, when I bought my car used, I didn't get one of those lock/unlock key fob things. I don't think my car has a security package because I've never triggered or seen anything about an alarm other than the anti-theft light on the radio.

I know from the manual there is a way to program a key fob (Example: Amazon.com: Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo With Do-It-Yourself Programming: Automotive ) but I don't know if it will actually work for my car specifically.

A reminder, my car is a 2003 Base model and I don't THINK it has the "security package"?

That worked for me. Just turn the car to ACC, hold down both buttons for a few secs, get out and try it.​
