I just got this car and luv it, but no idea if it is considered formula style.

Feed it regular adult food if it throws up go back to formula.

it will have a hood scoop on the drivers side and it will say formula in big letters on the side of the car.

well if you have the original car manual it will tell you there or in the registration in the DMV will tel you there or if you open the hood the engine block should say formula

You could order a "regular " firebird with a V-8. The difference is in the components......if the paint is original, ALL Formulas had Formula decals on the front bumper, rear bumper, and on both doors. The Formula had a beefed up suspension with very large diameter sway bars front and rear, had the 16-inch aluminum wheels with 245/55/ZR16 performance tires, and dual exhaust tips. Most Fomulas came with TPI (tuned port injection), and regular Firebirds only had TBI as the injection method. The Formulas also came with a big hood bulge that the regular Firebird did not have. The Formula was basically a Transam in Firebird clothes. It was actually faster stock than a Transam due to the absence of added weight (no ground effects on the Formula).
