I am wanting too lower my 04 Chevrolet Impala. I am just wondering is it necessary that I change the factory dog bones too aftermarket ones. And if so how do you go about replacing these.

Thank you:

When I lowered mine I put shorter ones on.

It's not nessasary but suppose to give a better ride.

You replace by pulling the motor forward and putting the shorter ones on

Use a ratchet strap and do NOT pull on the upper intake manifold. 20's will be fine but, most on here will recommend smaller (18's max). The risk of brake, transmission, and drivetrain damage/premature wear isn't worth it. AS well as sacrificing the ride quality and price of tires.

^^ We all have our own opinions and wants

Paying more for less rubber/tire just doesn't make sense to me

Just stating my opinion

Agreed! Its quite ridiculous if you ask me... Sad thing is, they can charge as much as they want because we got to have tires :bang:

Use dog bones from a Pontiac Montana!!!
Nice find. I recently came across some information on part swapping. It seems a lot of parts from the montana fit the 7th gen impy's.
