I am not sure. On my 77 Impala I had to replace the fan a few years ago. When I bought the new motor, I switched out the fan blade. The new motor though call for by the book was not the one that fit my car. The auto parts store had to get a fan motor from a Chevy S-10 to fit. The so called correct motor had a 1/4 inch longer shaft whiched would not allow the fanblade to turn without squealing and binding. I would be very cautious tring a differnt blower motor.

Some of the civilian caprices came with a belt-driven fan in what is considered the HD Towing Pkg. Most people change to dual electric cooling fans, which came in the 94-96 Caprice, as well, which puts WAY less strain on the motor, and also helps things run cooler. Also, don't really trust your temp. gauge on these cars, cause they can be pretty inaccurate at times.
