I have driven two Ford dealer service loaners with the stop-start system. I will NEVER buy a vehicle with the system, unless it can be easily turned-off permanently in a settings screen.

Miserable idea.

Is it only for the 2.5? Does it work for 3.6? I realize it originally was for 2.5 only but I don't know if later thru 2020 if any 3.6 motors got the feature.

I only know it works on my 2.5.

 

Unfortunately, it spread to all of them including 3.6l's. I have a 2021 Traverse that has it with no disable button. Only way I can disable it is put the transmission in manual mode, then shift it to 9th gear. The trans then operates as if it's in drive. My son has a 23 Traverse that has a disable button. My 21 was supposed to get the mid cycle enhancement that included the disable button, but was postponed to the 22 models due to the covid slow down.
