Sarcasm doesn't come across in text, I do hope you're joking. I fart and one of my fleet cars has another 80k on it.

My 77 has only 6k more than yours, lol. And it IS an OLD car being 34 years old. My 97 Dodge Van has over 362K miles and still going strong.

You need to drive that thing more Kenny, mine was my grandpas car, he didn't drive it much, I drove it throughout highschool and a few years after, then it sat 6 years, I've been driving it again for about 2 years now, and the speedo was broken for about 8 years, and it still shows almost 150k.

True, but I like that it is a low mileage car so to speak, lol. In 2001 or 2002 when my grandparents bought the car from a local auction it had only 17,4?? miles on the odometer and the OEM FR15 tires still on all 5 rims. By the time I bought it in 2003 it had just under 25K. So I have put a few miles on it. IMO it will be a sad day when it rolls over 100K mark.

I may drive it more when I buy, costume rebuild and install both a Vortec 350 and 700R4 transmission. With the two I am hoping to get around 25mpg on the highway. And still launch faster than many of these fart can imports.

May want to lower the rear end ratio a bit when you do that, but that sounds more than reasonable.

3.08 would put you at a higher final ratio than you have now, if that helps your decision.

^^ yes, but Don lives in Racine. That takes years off your car's life.

Think about it, Americas car companies are based in the Midwest, they're trying to stimulate sales!
