My wife's 2005 impala base has an issue with the cruise control. When she sets the speed the dash light comes on and it acts like its working but it doesn't keep speed but the dash light is still on. I wondering if its the Throttle Position Sensor or maybe the gas pedal sensor. Any thoughts??:hope:

That sounds like the cruise control module to me

Since these engines are cable driven there is only one throttle sensor (TPS). They do NOT have a gas pedal sensor like fly-by-wire systems.

However I do NOT believe this is a TPS problem. Sounds to me like a bad connection on the Cruise module. I can't remember if these cruise systems are vacuum operated or not.

They are not vacuum operated. They are controlled by the PCM.
