Hello to everyone on the Impala Forums:beer:,

I have a 02 Impala Ls and i have a issue with my rear turn signal socket blowing light bulb's:cool:, I took my light bulb housing out and noticed that the socket terminal's look corroded and kinda burned out so my question is what can i buy to clean out all the corrosion and gunk:dunno:, Or do i need to buy a whole new light bulb socket:cool:. I have been buying and changing light bulbs once a week:gaah:....Any idea's

Electrical contact cleaner or possibly battery acid cleaner. Use a brush or similar. Clean the contacts dry and place a dot of dielectric grease on each contact. Dielectric grease will keep out moisture and prevent this from happening again.

If all else fails replace the socket. They are not that expensive.

Rockauto for the socket. DORMAN Part # 85876 I believe this is the correct part

Thanks for the response g25racer, I'll go out and buy some electric cleaner, Clean out everything and see how it goes:eek:k3:.

I'd try to find out why it's getting wet in there...should be dry as a bone.
