Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum. Just came across a '68 true hardtop Impala and I am wondering if it is possible to replace the back and front bumpers to a '67. The car needs work but I just love the looks of the lights on the back and the bezels on the front of the '67. Im not much of a car guy but wanting to get into this as a hobby. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I doubt if a '67 Front Bumper would match up correctly to a '68, but the Rear is completely different. In '67 the Tail Lights are in the Body and in '68, they are in the Bumper. The Trunk Lids are also very different. It would take a whole lot of body work in the Tail Light areas to accomplish it.

It would be much easier to just sell the '68 and buy a '67.

I’ve been looking into this as well. Could probably put a 67 bonnet on, to go with the 67 rear bumper, as the bonnets are totally different at the bottom. Not sure how easy this would be mechanically and how well it would all fit.
The front bumper and grill would be much easier to swap.
