·'92 Chevy Caprice Classic (v8 350):
I just got back from a road trip (5 hours both ways). By the time I got back, my car was having a really hard time shifting (automatic). The next day I couldn't get it above 30mph; my rpm just jumps way up. I checked the tranny fluid, and the dipstick was dry, so I added 3 quarts (and some sealer gunk).
My symptoms haven't really changed. Is my transmission dead? Would replacing the torque-converter be the same as replacing the transmission? Would that help? What other options do I have? (Besides getting it looked at.)
Thanks!
