Checking for tow package?

So I'm going to be looking at a 95 Caprice Wagon this weekend, how can I tell if it has the tow package or not? Hoping it has the posi rear.... thanks. Is it just looking for the factory tow hitch? or is there some other tell-tale sign. The seller doesn't know if it does or not (he's not the original owner)

I googled this: RPO for tow package 1995 caprice

Looking around, it appears there are several RPO codes related to it. One of them is B4U. This will be on the RPO sticker, altho I'm not sure where that is on a Caprice wagon.

Hopefully, someone here can give you a more definitive answer.

In the mean time, you can hit some of the links in the google search. The first hit has 5 links. The middle one mentions several RPOs relevant to towing.

HTH.

Thanks - I appreciate the reply. Sort of new to this GM game...
VO8 is I believe the mechanical fan code which was part of the tow package. B4U is a suspension code, may have been associated as well
Spitting into the wind is about as useful as assuming a 24yo posi actually functions.

G80 is the code for posi if it has that it will likely have 2.93 gears. If it has no VO8 it could be dual electric fans and then possibly 2.56 gears. The dual electric fans are IMO nicer, not engine rpm dependent and a LOT quieter, you can feel the power gain too and likely a small mileage bump, MANY folks converted mechanical fan cars to dual electric so don't just rely on fans to identify things.
SPID lable in in the tailgate door jamb.

What do you think the tow package is going to gain you? At 24yo springs are shot, the mechanical fan is obnoxious, posi surely shot. The only really good thing it assures you get is the 2.93 gears, the 2.56s lug the engine too much in daily driving.

and i thought the 74 challenger with a 318/2.74 gearing /904 3 speed trans gearing was tall....sheesh! with 2.56's, does it cruise at 90 holding 2k rpms? LOL
Honestly when I had my 94 wagon with 2.56 gears I used drive instead of OD below about 70mph. LT1 makes such great torque it drove just fine, but mileage was better if you kept it from lugging.
The "Tow Package" didn't come with a Hitch. Should have Posi, 2.93 gears and a mechanical fan. That fan will be a dead giveaway. If you see it, it's a tow pack car. It should also have the Electronic Level Control for the rear suspension.

Drop the tail gate and look for the RPO label on the right side jamb. It will have all the options listed on it.
