If you want to remain legal on the road, just buy a cheap magnaflow cat from your local exhaust shop.... if you want cheap, just straight pipe it, but you won't be able to pass state inspection... How do you know for certain the cat is needing replaced? Do you have any codes or are you just getting some exhaust rattle?

It's been giving me the traditional rotten egg smell and if I drive to places that's about 30 minutes far the engine will start shaking while I'm parked at stop lights. I bought a converter back in June but couldn't find where the cat was located at.

Seen a cat at Advance Auto Parts for around $120, might get it this weekend but can't seem to find an easy way to actually access the going bad cat. Any suggestions?
