Well on my wonderful Chevy Cavalier I have a problem with the Gas cap not sealing properly (have replaced it before) so every year I go through the process of making sure the cap is on really really good and then resetting the computer. Then I drive for a few days and then get it inspected (New York). Well this year it fail because it wasn't ready to be inspected, does anyone know how many miles you have to go before its ready? I thought it was 50 but now that I am near 200 I don't think thats the case.

The inspector said that some parts where ready but not the Catalyst and the Evaporative System.

Any help would be great
Its a New York inspection which is hooked directly up to a New York scanner and gives a printout of the details of the OBDII Inspection. They are both listed on the page
