I want to but a 2000 Chevrolet Impala or Malibu neither have any body damage and are fully automatic.

Impala: $4,650
mileage: 128,916
In good condition and runs good.

Malibu: $4,500
mileage: 111,099
In good condition and runs good

But which one is the better deal?
Eventually I am going to paint the one I buy..
This will be my first car...

not necessarily true. if a car has been taken care of properly, these engines will last long past 250,000 miles. but since you dont know who owned this car or what they have done with it, i say pass on both and keep looking around. i bought my impala for 7,000 and it was 5 years old with only 25,000 miles on it. they are out there, just keep looking!

If you really want one of those 2 cars, you can check it out on "carfax" to get more info on them before buying...I'd do it with any used car purchase.

Both are good cars, however, the malibu will have either a 3.1 Liter or a 3.4L, check the lower intake isn't leaking on the 3.1 and 3.4, but the biggest thing is check if the headgaskets are leaking on the 3.4. The back head is known for leaking. However, if the impala has a 3.8L go for it, you can't kill that motor.
