Hello there. I’m going to be replacing an actuator in a 2010 Chevy Impala LT because of that dreadful clicking noise that seems to happen with these vehicles. That’s all fine, but then I heard that you have to calibrate the actuators. I have a Bluedriver scan tool, but I don’t think that would work. I hear other things such as pulling a fuse or disconnecting the negative battery cable. I’m not sure what the proper way is. If anyone can help, I’d appreciate it.

Bluedriver doesn't address it
try this- it worked for my 2008 9C3
DORMAN BLEND DOOR 604-108 $12.99

Recalibration instructions:

1. Disconnect negative battery cable
2. Turn ignition on- engine off
3. Wait 5 minutes
4. Turn off ignition (remove key)
5. Reconnect battery cable
6. Insert key and turn ignition on- engine off
7. Wait 5 minutes- do not adjust HVAC controls
8. Done-start car and observe if door operates with circulate/recirc

Just my two cents, this worked perfectly on my 2008 Impala...

I realize its an older thread. The clicking noise indicates the gear inside the actuator is broken. It's very common and the fix is to replace the actuator.
