This is for people that did a big 3/4 upgrade and did not replace the factory wires.
I did a big 3 upgrade and found that my instrument cluster would notify me that battery saver was active. This would usually happen roughly 10 minutes after the vehicle has been running, mainly with the sound system and the heat/ac on. I learned that it was because I didn't run the power from alternator+ to battery+ thru the battery current sensor. I have zero gauge wire so I couldn't run it thru the current one because the factory wires wouldn't allow the a.m 0ga to go thru. Youre probably thinking, why not take the factory wires out? Well I was taught that for big 3/4, you want to add on to the factory wires and not replace them. So what i did was head to the junkyard and found a spare current sensor. I left enough wire so I could splice the new sensor into the current one. Colors match too and should be the same all around (pink white and brown). I tested this out today and I have yet to see the message pop up on my information center.

Battery saver still Appearing. Do I need to fit the 0 gauge as well? I have 3 In now. Do you think a larger sensor that could fit I all 4 cables will do the trick?

try using the tapatalk app on a smart device to upload your photo. it will auto-size the pics for you and take the headache out of posting images to this forum. good luck in your search for an answer on your question.

Figured it out. Cram photos does not always work. On my 6th try with cables and the sensor. Only 1 worked. 0 gauge + battery ground, but sensor needs to be pointed to battery + not too high or voltage drops to 12.3
Now I'm at 14 to 14.6

Not sure what model u guys are running. But I have a 2019. And my sensor is on the ground line by the battery. And I can’t fit the 1/0 awg wire along with the factory ground so I upgraded the stock wire. I also upgraded to a 320 amp alt. Which in my case was a plug and play set up. I have no voltage variation or drop. I didn’t have to run a + charging wire thru any sensors

370 amp alt on its way for my 18 impala...did you have any trouble dealing with the fuse block on top of the battery? I'm worried about putting the charge line to the existing 300 amp fuse.
