I was wanting to know which way is best/Faster for sanding a car down to metal, a straightline sander, orbital, or traditional long block? everything else such as blocking and color sanding will be done by hand.
It's fastest using a power tool, orbital sander will work well. But I have found that the grit of the sandpaper is what really makes the biggest difference. Using a course grit paper will get you to bare metal much faster than fine grit. I usually go for 40 grit paper when going down to bare metal.
