Part 2 of my ongoing issue. '03 LS Impala randomly stalls when warmed up, after being parked for 10+ minutes. Starts just fine when cold. Otherwise, runs fine.

I noticed the past few times it's decided to stall, I've also heard a pop. The pop yesterday included a puff of smoke billowing out from under the hood. I inspected looking for anything burnt but found nothing.

My guess it's backfiring through the throttle body. Any ideas what would cause this? Is it excess fuel from the injectors igniting or some sort of timing issue?

No SES codes at the time. Thanks.

Run a few tanks of Chevron thru it and see what happens.

^^ Chevron, Lucas, or Seafoam in the gas tank first. Could be a multitude of things but first, start with this. Poor a bottle in on a half tank of gas or so in order to get a decent concentrate. If problem persists by the end of the tank I would check for fuel and vacuum leaks. Could be a fuel pressure regulator, Idle air control valve, Vacuum line (esp line going to throttle body), fuel injector o-rings, etc.
