Growing up in the Ohio Valley, I often cheered for the Steelers. The Bengals were closer, but they often weren't worth cheering for
After 20 years in the Dallas area, I've warmed up enough to the Cowboys to be a fair weather fan...which means I still spend most of my time cheering for the Steelers
For sure, I have low expectations for the Cowboys this year.
Coach Landry was often recognized for his stoicism on the sideline. Knowing that he had flown 30 missions in a B-17 in the 8th Air Force during WW2, I figure, after his war experiences, there wasn't really anything going on in the game that was scary enough to get him very excited
I'm actually a life-long Steelers fan myself (grew up in Pittsburgh)!
But yeah, Tom Landry was the man. Always in a suit and tie on the sidelines, with his hat...
Man, how times have changed... We went from respectful, realistically-paid players and coaches that wore suits on the sidelines to players that make a fortune and won't even stand for the national antem.... <sigh>
