My system is totally intact, I bought a ribbon cable extension to move the display to the pocket. The stock base radio is terrible in my mind for reception so I went this route. The tablet is a nexus 7 2013 with Timurs kernel. I am connected to the aux port in the center console. I purchased an OEM Implala backup cam and wired it with a USB capture device. The app I use for this is Easycap. I have my phone automated to share my Unlimited data as so as it senses my cars Bluetooth connection. I purchased another radio display for the plastic so when the time comes if needed it will be stock again. Apps I love having now are Waze, Directv, Kodi for movies, Youtube, Sirius, IPcamviewer (my security cams), Chamberlain for my wifi garage doors, Chrome for watching how my fantasy teams are doing. Things I might do are: USB mic for using OK Google commands, maybe a USB FM adapter and a front facing camera for recording etc. Thanks for the replies.

I'm an android guy by far and couldn't believe I never stumbled upon this type of install. There is a huge following for the nexus 7 tablets. It is still a very usable device (2013 version) and it has GPS. I'm still having a couple kinks with the backup camera but compared to my stock radio I'm very happy I took the time.
