New owner of a 2008 Impala SS. Very happy with it thus far minus the wheel spin but I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that sells aftermarket parts. Such as a cold air induct, chips, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm a new 08 SS owner too! Let me know what you find out. Thanks! BTW what king of MPG have you gotten. Just took a long trip and got 27.7! I thought that was pretty darn good considering that I like putting my foot in it every now and then.
Well K&N makes a cold air intake and so does cold air induction If i did it over again I would go with the cold air induction it can be found here http://coldairinductions.com/W-BodyLS4V8ColdAirBox.html The K&N can be had for $225 from Autoanything.com If you want a tune Vector motor sports offers a canned tune you can install in your car but you can't adjust it or you could go with HPtuners then you can tune your car however you want to. Also one of the first mods I would do is install some strut tower bars front and rear. If you have any questions just shoot me a PM
You might also try these guys: http://www.tunetyme.net/ I can't tell from their website if they tune the later model SS, but I think they do. They are well liked/respected in the TrailBlazer SS community and don't lock their tune. Located in NJ. I have no direct experience with them, but have heard good things from people I know and trust.
www.autoanything.com has cold air intake, performance chip, mass airflow sensor & lowering springs for 07 SS's.......i figure they'd be good for the 08 SS also(check with the dealer first) my worry would be if any of these upgrades would effect the warranties.

let me know what you think!

IIRC the only difference between the LSx and the LS4 (5.3 in the Imp) is the crank is 13mm shorter and the accy's are moved, so any heads/valvetrain SHOULD work from a LSx engine
Theres a few people doing R&D on Wbody headers for the 5.3 right now (expect those to be about $1000 until they become more popular)

Stay away from chips, find someone to custom tune your PCM (ie www.getoverkilled.ca ) the piggybacks are usually overpriced garbage.

Diablo makes software to tune the LS4, i think HPTuners or DHP might as well

diablo preditor doesnt support 07-09 ss,but hp tuner does and any other mail order tune
thre is a guy on the other impala site/centex ss- a 2008 impala ss and he is runing 13.5/101mph at the strip... he still is basic stock ,like yours... also has your mods ,add drag tires also special downpipe/no cat. rkvette

Yeah ive seen him on naioa,ls1tech...
Forget the K & N Air Charger! It is a waste of money. I bought one. Cost like, $240. Installed it. My ET times actually dropped, not to mention the noise level increase from the engine compartment, unless you actually like more noise. I took the dang thing off. I'll sell it to you for $150. New, used once.

Save your money and buy a tuner kit for 1 or 200 more.

Personally, I bought a wet/dry nitrous kit and installed it dry because I didn't want to fool with the fuel system. Easy install. Press the button, and I'm gone.

Stay true!
Where did you get the spacer from? Been having trouble finding 1..
Eugene, how long did you use your CAI? I want to get one and am interested in buying yours.
Someone should jump at this deal! When I threw my k&n on I noticed a good power gain, along with "the noise." more air = more power
Got mine today and installed it. Absolutely in love. Engine sounds sooo great on my v6, couldn't imagine a v8. I do feel a power increase and difference in acceleration for sure. :)

Hi ChevImpalaBoy4. I ended up putting the K&N back on to see if it would help with gas mileage. While it did give me a little (Maybe 1mpg), I've got to tell you.

With no other mods, more air, changed the power curve of the engine. The low RPM torque has dropped off noticably. Frustratingly so. While the top RPM torque has increased a little, it is not worth the price of the K&N.

This issue is very pronounced due to the long final gear ration the 2006 Impala has. The gears are veeeeeerrrrrrry tall. Erego, the car spends most of it's time, even if you are racing someone, in the low to mid range RPMs. If the final gear ratio was not so tall, and I know because I may have had the car up to 150+ mph with little sweat, this would not be an issue. But, because it is so, when you crank first gear up and finally feel the little extra power kick in at 5-5.5 grand, you shift into second at redline and the RPMs really drop back into the low mid range. Second gear, then, is REALLY tall and while you are waiting for your engine to rev back up to the power zone, the other guy is calling you a clown and pulling away.

Save your cashola and purchase a Predator tuner and dry shot nitrous. Of course, if you do this, you better plan on a shift kit or changing transmissions, as the stock unit is a total piece of crap. Ask the thousands of people, me included, that had to replace theirs, and I don't even run the car hard!! The wife won't let me. :)

If you're having trouble finding aftermarket parts for performance purposes try looking up some GXP mods as well, i believe they're running the same 5.3L
I'd have to agree with everything you said about the gears. You def dont feel it until high rpms which by that time your in the dust. I got one anyways and love it. Not much else you cam do for our cars. I got mine for only $211, everything else just seems too costly to do. Headers, cams, etc.
^^you have a v6, they don't make headers for your car.

Put a n2o kit on it.
