I have a 2007 Impala LTZ and the bearings went out on the AC Compressor. I got a hold of a remaned as was wonder how much oil goes into the compressor. I figured I'd ask now in case my old compressor doesn't have any in it.

I would personally have a shop worry about that, the system will need to be evacuated before you can recharge it anyway, and I'm getting the impression you don't have an AC machine.

A friend of mine is going to help me with it, his shop has pretty much everything needed to do AC repairs. However, 99% of the work they do is with trucks, which means they have no information on consumer cars.

All I have to do is get the parts, figure out how much oil is needed in the system, and how much freon to put in. I've spent a good amount of time trying to find information about this, however I've had no luck.

I may just end up getting a Hayne's manual...

System capacity 150ml (5oz) PAG oil, this applies to compressor replacement. Refrigerant capacity 0.61kg (1.35lb) for LZE, LZ4, LZ9 engines (aka 3.5 and 3.9)
