I notice with my 2018 Impala LS, the A/C light illuminates at the first startup each morning (I never keep the A/C on when I turn off my cars). Now that it's getting cold here in New England, it will still illuminate, even when it's below 30 degrees F. I can't seem to find anything in the owner's manual, regarding this. I typically turn off my car with the mode selector set to 'floor', and I turn the fan off.

By your comment "illuminate" do you mean show temps? Mine does, even when off. When I turn A/C off it shows off on the infotainment screen and doesn't come back on until I manually turn it on.

Side Q for you? What engine do you have in your 2018 LS? Was the V6 even available that year for your model?

The AC will be turned on during defrost.
The AC removes moisture from the incoming air in order to keep the windows clear from fogging up.

Do you have the auto climate control or the cheap shit?
I am pretty certain with an LS it is the cheap system but then again I didn't know either that you could get the 3.6 in an LS.
