Iis it the same as the 350s in the 94 95 96? Not the LT1, just the 350. Wat differences are there?

The LT1 was THE optional 350 in the 94-96 9C1 a 4.3l V8 was standard. It is not compatible with the 93 Caprice 350. To oversimplify there are a lot of changes to cooling and engine management but the crankshaft/rods/pistons are all interchangable, so it is kind of like a lot and a little is changed.

I am going to go out on a limb and take a guess as to why you are asking, if you found a 93 Caprice 350 to try and put in your 94 car forget it, if you have the 4.3l in your car I would keep it over the 93 350 they make about the same HP, and if you are looking for a replacement for a 94 LT1 then the 93 engine is a huge step backwards, like 200hp instead of 260hp.

No no no no. Lol I got a 94 with a 4.3 an my 93 has a 350. I was just wondering the differences btween a 93 350 and 94^ 350, discarding the ALMIGHTY LT1. Thanks though dwaynej. So I figure, now dat u say it, a 94 4.3 is just as good myb better then a 93 350. Therefore basicly answering my question, a 94^ 350 is packing more HP and torque. Thanks.

Without looking it up the 93 350 was something like 190-205hp, the 94 4.3l is 200hp but admittedly lower torque, the 94 LT1 was 260hp that is a huge jump in power for one model year with the same displacement. Again without looking it up I think the 93 350 has about the same torque as the LT1 just the HP is vastly different because the LT1 continues to make torque to a higher rpm.

An LT1 drops in place of the 4.3l really easily. The 4.3l can benefit greatly from some gear and stall and if done reasonably will NOT hurt your fuel economy. Only crappy thing is if your car got the 7.5" axle it is not worth putting gears in so you would want a 8.5" first. From 94-96 most civilian 4.3l Caprices got the 7.5", look at the axles under your cars, if the cover is different then your 94 probably has a 7.5".
