I have a 91 Fleetwood Brougham. It runs well but sometimes when I'm waiting to turn, at a stop light, or sometimes even while driving, the engine cuts off and the steering wheel locks up. One time the brakes even locked almost causing a collision. The only times I seem to have these problems is when it's hot out. I don't know if that's part of the factor or not but I was wondering what may be the problem and about how much it would be to fix it.
I forgot one detail. It starts up immediately if I try to crank it right after dying.

I would try a tune-up. A lot of times, when the engines get hotter, the ignition systems tend to break down. Try a tune up, with a Fuel Filter Change, and see what happens.
