There is a plug on the side of the pump. You have to remove the plug and fill the internal reservoir. Operate the pump motor up and down. The system will generally bleed itself. Keep adding fluid until the top operates smoothly. If you have problems or don't feel comfortable doing it, find a trim and upholstery shop near you. They will be able to take care of it for you.
