on a 1990 chevy 10 bolt rearend 1/2ton truck 4x4
can you use a 10 bolt out of a chevy 1/2ton 2 wheel drive 88-98 with the 4x4 half shafts.most 4x4s are 30 spline and 2x4s are too,i know that there is a 1/4 in difference in length and of course match the gear ratio,I know you can with the older ones thanks 87 and down

Yea, I guess if, you're willin to live w/ the havin to weld new preach and shock mounts for the new rear-end. B'cuz of the 1/4" different in length. Then, go for it.

But if, you want to stick w/ just doing a straight swap. Find a rear-end out of another 4x4 w/ the same things you've mentioned. Like the 88-98 model yrs. and the same(matchin) gear radio w/ the front drive.

Check out the search on rear-end swap from FSC.com(below).

Good luck!
