It been a very long time since I posted here.

I bought a brand new 2020 Impala Premier back in June. The A/C stopped working the next day (very hard to believe I know). Took it back to the dealership and they were shocked and confused but looked at it anyway.

They couldn't find a leak so they refilled the system but this time put dye in it just in case it leaks out again.

Well, a week later it stopped working.

Took it back to them and they found a leak at one of the hoses.

They replaced the hose, refilled the system (again) and sent me on my way.

A week later AGAIN it went out.

This was about 5 weeks ago and I haven't been back to the dealer to see what the issue is.

I did some research and I am wondering if this is a known problem with these cars. I read somewhere that it could be an issue that can only be fixed by removing the dash board which is why I haven't been back to the dealer. It's covered under warranty obviously but I know that is not an overnight fix and I don't want to be without my ride for that long.

Anyone know what the issue might be? Anyone else have this problem with these 10th gen Impala's? I'm a bit bummed out by this and kinda wish I went with a different car now. Don't get me wrong the Impala is an awesome car but for the A/C to be an issue is making me feel some type of way.

Since it's getting cooler out the AC isn't much of a priority but I'd still like to know what the issue might be. I appreciate any help!

I have a 2014 Impala 2LTZ - purchased new. The a/c still works and operates well.

I would research the ”lemon law” in your state, and proceed with a replacement vehicle or repurchase (refund). You may want to contact an attorney. Good luck.

My 2015 2LT's A/C is still going strong. Never had issues.

I encountered problems w my ac but it was self induced. Still this advice may be worth checking into. There’s a device on either the pos or neg wire near the battery. If a ground loop or lack of power being read by this device it will shut off ac then other nonessential systems in its effort to save the battery.

I rented a 2020 impala and the AC blows nothing but hot air unbelievable that’s such a new car can have problems so early with the AC.

Evaporators seem to be a common problem with the newer impalas ...l think they made them out of recycled Fords and Dodges...Take it in make them fix it..They should be getting quicker doing them as so many have faulty evaporators

I've had 2014 for about 8 years now and just recently i moved to Texas and my car started having all kinds of issues. my AC was one of them. it just wasn't getting cold at all, so I took it to a shop to check the refrigerant and low and behold it was empty. they recharged it with the correct amount, and it was working fine when I left the shop but a couple of days later it started acting odd. sometimes ill start the car and it will be warm and never get cold, other times it will take really long to get cold and other times it only gets cold when i really really step on the gas and raise the RPMs up during highway speeds.

Then it will do the exact opposite, it will start up cold and as soon as I get on the highway that i hit highway speeds and i gun it, it will lose its cold and stay warm.

I haven't checked it for any dye leaks but i would hate to think that evaporator core is the issue. I've also noticed that the condensation leak under the car is not as much as it use to be when it was working with no issues at all. I would hate to have to take out my dashboard to replace my evaporator core
