Greetings, fellow Impala owners. I'm hoping one of you can help me understand what's needed to fix my broken radio knob, the outer part. I Ihink the replacement part is 84175369, about $10-15 + shipping from GM parts dealers online.

The local Chevy dealer quoted me about $140, claiming they need an hour of labor to remove the dash panel to replace the part.

It looks like the lower piece of the part sheared off. Do any of you know if replacing this is a simple matter of using tweezers or needle nose pliers to pull the broken-off plastic ring out of the dash and then snap the new part into place?

If the dash really needs to be removed, I'm inclined to buy the part and then find a local car stereo shop like Car Toys to do the labor for me.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys have.
