I have a 2014 Impala 96k mikes new body style. The other day the “service power Steering” warning came on out of no where. No power steering at all. Can still drive it just is a bear.
No idea where to start looking. No check engine light. Can’t find anything on YouTube etc. Checked for recalls, nothing.
Anyone with any ideas where to start to diagnose it?
Thank you!

Are all of your parking sensors working?

Hi. Yes they work. However, now the front camera says service. This is new.
Thank you

My power steering issue was caused by a wheel bearing. There is a recall for your model year regarding the power steering control module. You should contact a dealer and see what they say.

go to autozone/wherever that has a free scanner
scan for ABS codes---its was on a different menu on the one i borrowed
mine said i havd a bad abs sensor right rear
sure enough-- it was damaged.
bought new on online (get OEM) and installed it--took about 1 hr

magically, everything started working-- was amazing how much stuff went haywire over that one sensor...

Conclusion.

Turned out my rack was bad. Took it to chevy and they diagnosed it. The dealership wanted $2700 to get a new rack and install it. No way...
I got the part number #84494624 and located one at a auto recycler. Less miles than my car with rear end damage. $161.00. I then went to a local mom and pop garage and for $531 they installed it. It’s fixed. Can turn the wheel with my tongue. Getting it aligned this morning.
Thank you to all that replied to my problem.
