2013 Chevy Impala AC Issues

I noticed the other day when I got in my car and was driving around, I tried to turn the AC to get cooled down but it was blowing out hot air and making a weird noise (like a hissing noise) and the noise continues whenever the AC is on, I checked the AC Compressor fuse and its fine, checked the cabin air filter, it was dirty, I changed it and still the same thing, I checked the compressor when the AC was on and it was engaged so I don't know what it could be, maybe bda? or my main guess a leak and if so should I get an AC Recharge kit or just get it charged at a mechanic?

Was it blowing hot air out of both the driver and pass. side vents?

yep.
Do you have dual climate control (driver/passenger)?

yeah, I put both the driver and passenger side on the coldest setting I could.

Mine is/was doing the exact same thing. Over time, I noticed that the temps weren't blowing that cold, and lately it started blowing warm. Same kind of hiss noise too when on, but that only started lately when it started blowing warm. My low side pressure seemed low, so I added a can. Blowing cold again for now, but it must mean I got a leak somewhere. I'll see how long it lasts and determine my next steps after that. Probably have a shop find where the leak is, and then I'll fix it myself.

did you add a can of AC Recharge or an actual bottle of r134a also, did the hissing go away after?

It was an actual 12oz bottle of r134a. I happened to have one around so just gave it a try. Yes, as far as I can tell the hissing has stopped for now.
