2013 Chevrolet Impala LTZ . I have a big pronblem I was told from auto zone that I needed a new catalytic converter so they ordered me one when I try to install it . It would not fit It was the wrong one. So they ordered another one when I got it I was surprised that it was the same one that I was returning. My car came from California now I live in 𝑵𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒅𝒂 how and we’re do I get the right one. To find out that nothing was wrong with the original one it was just a o2 sencer I sent the original to the place I bought the new one to get $75 so now I have no catalict ice converter

If you car was originally from California, it probably had a specific cat that meet those emissions. If you live in Nevada, and are not going to go back, I would not bother replacing it with a California compliant one, as they are quite a bit more expensive. I would just go to a local to you muffler shop and have them install a generic one. They will be able to modify your exhaust to make something new fit properly. If you really want to try it yourself, I recommend looking through the ones on rockauto and finding the one that matches what you had

Unfortunately, you learned the hard way that the people at Autozone are not mechanics. All they do is read the codes and tell you what might be the most likely cause. Honestly, I have talked to quite a few people who work there that seem to know almost nothing about vehicles.

My friend I met one I first moved out here just happened to work at auto zone when I first bought the car drove it to Reno the car one day just wouldn’t go so he replaced the transmission module that cost me $1000 I found a screw driver in the engine so when I pulled it out I then found out it was in there holding the transmission module against the transmission to think I bought it from a car lot in north Sacramento so I thought he new what he was doing I know better now Thanks for your reply I appreciate it….
Code NU6 tell them that, it's an emissions code for the engine basically I think

Salvage yard if you can find one that hasn't been taken. Otherwise, go to a muffler shop. They usually have aftermarket converters that will fit. They know which ones will work.

reubenswinks I am so dissapointed I thought i was going to be abel to take your advice and buy a catalytic converter that was not going to make me come out of pocket to much. Then I read this. The US state of Nevada has now become the sixteenth state in the nation to adopt clean car standards. The regulations will be implemented for the model year 2025. The legislation will also develop $100 million in charging infrastructure during the next three years. I did find on the link Rockauto you sent me for $500 hopefully it will fit. I appeciate your reply.

Well after talking to some salvage yards here close to me in Nevada and in Sacramento California. I was told that every car they get the first thing they do is remove the catalytic converters and turn them in. By law they cant sell catalytic converters. I was in shock wow......
