I've been waiting for abrasion harness tape for a few days. Its arriving today so now I can tear into this and find my problem.

Any pointers from anyone?

I will try and take pics along the way to help anyone with the similar problem.

Poked around at the harness the other day and I think I need miniature hands to get it up and out to work on it.

Dtc u0101/$ 7e8 lost communication with tcm

Symptoms

Service Stabilitrak message

Service traction control message

Limp mode (third gear only) unable to manually shift gears. Reverse does work though.

A/C inoperative

On start up high rev..slowly goes up to about 1800rpm then returns to normal. Last about 10 seconds.

Door locks do not unlock automatically when put into park.

Mileage display on instrument cluster occasionally blank

Strange whirring noise from power steering pump.

Vehicle slams hard into gear. Park to drive...Bang

These are the things I can recall off the top of my head

First finding.

Suggestions?

I have connector pin tool to remove all wires/pins from harness plug.

No slack in harness to trim and it looks like half the wires have the insulation worn. More than likely it's only one that is the culprit here.

Solder and shrink tubing is my first instinct on this. Not sure if solder would create unwanted resistance in wire/circuit though.

One tool I don't have for my meter is piercing leads. At a stand still at the moment.

I'd rather just repair the one broken wire than all of them. Abrasion tape will solve the insulation issues on the unbroken ones.

The damage is caused by tbe parts that are supposed to protect the wires. SMH.

The clamp on the backshell is what has cut into the wires. This is the kind of stuff that should get caught during qualification testing.

.
Then you will also enjoy these 2 wires that were correctly positioned in their little holders

Went to local pick and pull for some donor parts. The 3 2012+ already had motors and trans removed along with all harness pieces.

Did some searching and found a 07 Acadia still intact.

Time to pick this thing apart. Guessing I can replace damaged looking wires one at a time.

Decided to twist solder and heat shrink damaged ones.

At the cost of 5$ and some sweat and time....stabilitrak error can suck it.

Tools used for repair

Wire strippers
Nut driver for air box boot clamps
Solder iron and solder
Shop light
Channel locks for water hose clamp(pia)
Small pick tool for connector wire tabs
Cloth abrasion tape for wire protection
Distilled water for loss of coolant
