Hi all, about a week and a half ago I had the starter on my '08 impala die on me, so I pulled it and put in a new one. Yesterday, It seems like the starter died again. I pulled the battery, charged it, tried again but to to avail. I even tried jumping it and it sadly seems like the starter died again. Has anybody else had a problem like this, and if so what was wrong? Thanks in advance for your response!

The new starter could be bad. I assume it's a reman? Sometimes, they're iffy.

You could have a bad (intermittent) starter relay. You could have a bad ignition switch. There could be a problem in the wiring.

Assuming you inspected the wiring when you put the starter in, I'd focus on the starter relay. But, to be thorough, you might pull the starter _and_ battery and get them both tested at the parts store.

Agree with Doug here. Have seen bad new starters a few times, rare even with remanufactured. Usually at least get click click or slow roll if you are getting power to the starter. Would be sure to check everything before pulling the new starter back off though. If you have a meter and some alligator clips you could check your voltage at your battery, then connect to your terminals at the starter with clips and bump the ignition switch. You should get +-12 volts to the starter. If you have good voltage at the battery but not the starter, then could probably rule out the starter and look closer at the relay and switch. If you are getting good voltage to the starter then pull it and take it back.

@jcoleman25621 welcome I see this is your first post! Just letting you know that anything you typed-in didn't appear in your post, just the quoted text from an earlier post by another member shows up.

What car do you have and where are you located?!
