All the actuators are the same part# except for the mode/vent selection actuator. And yes, you should be able to set them where you want and unplug and/or remove.

There's a seller on Amazon (BlendDoor.com) that sells a rebuild kit for ~$13. It's simply the replacement gear that commonly breaks made of "hardened/space-age plastic". I've rebuilt 2-3 bda's and haven't had 1 fail again.

So someone finally did make one, awesome!

There's also a German-made brass gear here on the forum, but it's a little pricey for my liking ($40-45).
