Please guys I need help, I have code p0010, I've changed quite a bit of parts and I can't get it gone I need to smog it and tag it in a few days. P0010 camshaft position Actuator circuit/ open bank 1...I just replaced theEngine Variable Timing Solenoid ...the cam shafts position sensor...please

There are many things that it could be. Don't mean the code is what the part that needs replaced is...
Most times there are other codes that should be with the 0010? Was there more pending codes?


ECM Software out of Range
ECM Internal Damage
Wiring damage
Engine timing out of sync
Engine oil sludge (from lack of oil changes)
Worn timing components (chains, gears, guides)
Crankshaft or camshaft sensor malfunctions

Sadly because of the issues that it could be, It would need a Scan tool of a good quality. One that can not only look over your ssytem but also make your system work on demand... That way they can be tested and the values looked over with what the system values should be. There is training and could be some good amount of time involved in fixing this issue.

I would take it into a good independent GM Mechanic or a Chevy Dealer and have them fix this is your in need of your car to pass Smog soon.
