Hi, I just purchased a 01 impala 9c3. I want to change the stock radio into something that supports cds. While searching eBay for a radio I noticed that the radio from the 06 impala looks like it might fit the 01. Does anyone know if it would work? Thanks.

Someone else needs to jump in and confirm but my initial reaction is no.
They utilize a controller network and the audio unit is not just a stereo but an actual module that speaks with the PCM and BCM modules.
I would think it wouldn't work without some kind of aftermarket interface.
Pretty sure the interface to remove my wife's stock radio and go to an aftermarket unit was $100~.
