It's time to have a new chevy impala starter.
I have bought a new town and country starter replacement from Hexautoparts.
Can I install it myself ?
I see some posts said that can't do it yourself because it requires special tools according to service manual.
It has been used for 5 years and I couldn't find my manual here.
If I asked a mechanic for help, the labor cost is about $100 per hour.
I am thinking it couldn't be that difficult,right ?
Have you ever installed a starter replacement by yourself?
If so,how long did you take and what special tools do I need ?
Pls advice.
Thank you.

Not sure what engine you have, but I don't think there is any special tool required.
Here is a helpful youtube video of how to do a 3.4L starter

Have replaced several starters over the past 35 or so years, and never needed any special tools, just basic hand tools. That being said I have not replaced one on an 05 impala.
